To help us answer quickly, include your iPhone or iPad model, your iOS version (Settings → General → About), and the app version from Quote Bible → Settings → About.

Adding the Lock Screen widget

  1. Lock your iPhone, then touch and hold the Lock Screen and tap Customize.
  2. Tap the Lock Screen preview, then tap the widget area below the clock.
  3. Find Quote Bible in the list and tap the widget you want — the wide rectangular one shows the verse and its reference, the circular and inline ones fit smaller spaces.
  4. Tap Done.

You may need to unlock your phone once with Face ID first before the Customize button appears.

Adding the Home Screen widget

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the icons jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit → Add Widget (or the + in the top corner) and search for Quote Bible.
  3. Swipe between the small, medium and large sizes, then tap Add Widget. On iPad an extra-large size is also available.

Choosing what the widget shows

Open Settings in the app, under Widget:

The widget isn't changing

iOS decides when a widget may actually refresh, and it budgets those updates to protect battery life — so your chosen interval is a target, not a guarantee. If it seems stuck:

Why is the Lock Screen quote shortened?

The rectangular Lock Screen widget is a fixed, very small tile — about half a row. Rather than shrink long verses to unreadable type, the app trims them at a natural sentence or clause break so what you see stays legible. The full verse is always shown in the app and in the Home Screen widgets, and tapping the widget opens the app to read it in full.

Saving favorites

Tap the heart on any quote card to add it to your library. Everything you save appears under the Saved tab, and it stays on your device — no account needed. Tap the heart again to remove it.

Sharing a quote

Tap Share on a quote card. The app renders the verse as an image you preview first, then choose where it goes:

A shared link opens straight to that quote for anyone who already has the app.

Changing the look

In Settings → Appearance you can set the quote font size and its color. Color is stored separately for light and dark mode: leave one on Automatic and it keeps following your system appearance, or choose Custom to pin an exact color. Reset to Automatic puts both back.

Language

Quote Bible is fully translated into English and Spanish, quotes included, and follows your phone's language by default. To change it for this app only, open iOS Settings → Quote Bible → Language.

Your profile and iCloud

The name and picture in the Profile tab are optional and stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud they may follow you to your other Apple devices through your own iCloud account — we never see them. See the Privacy Policy.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Every quote ships inside the app and the widget works entirely offline. There is no account and nothing to sign up for.

Deleting your data

Clear your name and picture in the Profile tab, or delete the app — that removes everything it stored on your device. There is nothing held on our side to delete.

Reporting a mistake in a quote

Scripture references are checked carefully, but if you spot an error in a verse, its citation, or a translation, please tell us at us.summitllc@gmail.com and include the quote and where you saw it. Corrections go out in the next update.

Feature requests

Topics, saints and translations you'd like added are always welcome at the same address. Requests from readers shape most of what gets built next.
